Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team.
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for preparing and processing payroll for our organization, as well as reconciling benefits using excel and EDI files.
This position will also provide reports to Execs and Department Heads and will work closely with our HR Director.
This position will also assist employees with payroll and benefits questions.
The ideal candidate will have experience using the Paylocity platform and will have a strong understanding of payroll and benefits.
Key
Responsibilities:
Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for 250
employees (multi-state), as well as monthly bonus payrolls and out of sequence payrolls as needed.
Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports, overview of timecards and PTO administration.
Reconcile benefits using excel and EDI files, while working with outside vendors to assist employees with questions and deductions.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, changes to pay rate, and expense reimbursements/deductions through payroll.
Provide reports to the Management and Executive Team, as requested.
Maintain accurate employee records related to payroll and benefits.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Answer employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits.
Process correct garnishment calculations and ensure compliance.
Work closely with our HR Director to ensure accuracy of payroll and benefits information.
Identify areas for process improvement and make recommendations.
Work with HR team during Open Enrollment to ensure benefits are built and processed correctly.
Processes and maintains ACA compliance, including 1095 forms.
Responsible for the 401(k) Administration, hardship loans, wire transfer approvals.
Manages HR documents and update internal databases.
Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resources and payroll.
Other duties as assigned as needed.

Requirements:
Working knowledge of payroll & HR functions and best practices.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
Strong work ethic and team player.
Reliability is essential, will need to process a bi-weekly payroll and meet processing deadlines.
At least 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration Proficient in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Certification is preferred, but not required.
Experience with an HRIS System - Paylocity, preferred.
