SUMMARY Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, electrical equipment/systems, piping, and facility equipment/structures by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Visually inspects and troubleshoots machinery and equipment.
Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors, machine operators or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
Preventive maintenance-lubrication adjustments, cleaning, etc Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Fabrication Building Maintenance Other duties may be assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
