Ion Nutritional Labs Ion Nutritional Labs Largo, FL Largo, FL Full-time Full-time $20 - $22 an hour $20 - $22 an hour Job Title Packaging Set-Up Technician Reports To Packaging Supervisor YOUR PURPOSE The basic function of this position will include but is not limited to set up of packaging machines.
Role is key to proper setup, adjustment and continuous improvement of packaging area.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Setup all scheduled machines in an efficient and economical way per Standard Operating Procedures and OEM guidelines Direct changeover process activities (machine, parts/room cleaning) to meet established changeover times Drive continuous improvement of changeover process through lean manufacturing principles (5S, SMED events, kaizan) Communicates with plant leadership any safety/quality issues or equipment issues (mechanical/electrical) Store and put away all parts and tooling in a safe, protective manner, in proper location Inspect all components for damage prior to assembly Complete review and understanding of packaging SOP's Ability to use a variety of hand tools to perform job functions Ability to learn equipment change-overs on all packaging line set-ups Assist with basic troubleshooting of packaging equipment Keep company provided tools complete, clean, and organized May be required to make minor adjustments to processing parameters to avoid quality issues Hand off machine to operator once all process parameters and quality checks are complete Understands and used Red Zone as a communication tool Understands and uses Asset Essentials While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee frequently is required to climb.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, with help.
Good hand-eye coordination is required to assemble, operate, and disassemble equipment.
Must be available to work OT, weekends and/or Holidays as requested by Supervisor/Manager.
All other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager MINIMUM
Qualifications Education:
Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
Requires basic addition, multiplication and division skills to calculate product counts
Experience:
Packaging Manufacturing:
2 years (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Heavy lifting required Ability to read, understand, and communicate in English.
Must have physical ability to work on feet for a full shift, regularly lift and carry heavy containers, and perform all duties of job in a safe manner.
