Software Engineer

Mid-career software engineer is needed for the design and development of Alakai's Laser Control Software which is programmed in C/C+
on a Windows platform. The software contains a variety of modules which include the user interface module, control modules for a variety of hardware and data analysis module. The successful candidate will have demonstrated substantial technical innovation, discovery, initiative, problem solving, and both theoretical and hands-on technical skills. The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Minimum Experience &
Responsibilities:
BS in Computer Science/Software Engineering with at least 5 years work experience
Programming in a Windows environment using Visual Studio C/C++/C#
Hands on experience debugging software and identifying and solving hardware/software interface issues
Experience developing driver level dll's which communicate to hardware through a variety of protocols (serial, USB, PCI, Ethernet, etc).
Interfacing this system to other DoD systems utilizing military standards (i.e. SWEIG, Cursor on Target, etc)
Experience working in a team environment with other hardware and software engineers
Evaluates inter and intra-systems testability as a major design consideration to define system philosophy and approach and ensures testability and verifiability of requirements.
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Eligible for DoD Secret clearance
Desirable Experience &
Responsibilities:
MS in a technical field or discipline with at least 10 years work experience
Past lead software engineer experience on medium scale hardware-centric system
Experience with network video and video processing solutions
Experience supporting new business development and capture
Active DoD Secret clearance
