Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for an experienced Operations Technician at its helium transfill facility in Largo, FL.
Responsibilities include working in a plant environment, filling high pressure and cryogenic product containers, performing product analysis, conduct equipment inspections and maintenance, unloading/loading trailers. Candidates must be comfortable working 8-hour rotating shifts and weekend work. Individual must be willing to take ownership of basic safety responsibilities, and must be focused on safe work habits and sustaining a team environment. Strong computer skills are a plus.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be team player in a team environment
2 years experience in plant operations, desired
Military experience or technical training a plus
Physically able to handle wheeled containers in excess of 250 lbs
Ability to climb trailer ladders safely
Demonstrative mechanical aptitude
Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus
Self starter and self motivator
Must be flexible with shift schedule as business warrants
Must have good communication and computer skills. SAP knowledge a plus
Willingness to work outdoors 60% of the time
